Project Management
Shift Manager manages the staff and resources who monitor and manage the delivery of Real-time Thomson Reuters systems and services to meet or exceed agreed service levels on a 24x7 basisGeneral Administration
-Scope of the services is IDN services globally.
-Provision of day-to-day management of shift operations staff ensuring that the appropriate level of resources and skills are present for each shift. Management and development of staff..
-Successful implementation of changes.
-Reduction in the number of problems being escalated to 2nd level through improved skills and processes.
-No service outages caused by Controller error
-Operations processes, procedures and diagrams maintained and adhered to at all times.
-Cross training conducted to enable improved resource utilisation and realise economies of scale
-Management and ownership of 1st level incident management, escalation and restoration of service.
-Responsible for the staff resources and data centre infrastructure during nights and at weekends.
-Ensure appropriate skills and manning levels are available on shift to ensure the provision of service.
-Review and approve changes to production services ensuring minimum disruption to services.
-Responsible for assisting in defining and delivering the DC strategy and ensuring targets are met.
-Negotiate, implement and manage any 3rd party/outsourced relationship.

-Ability to effectively communicate complex technical issues from both a management and service angle
-Ability to coordinate and manage tasks for various projects to insure that all elements of work meet the quality standards, defined scope, and costs
-Ability to work with personnel at all levels, DC Strategy organisations, and Vendor / Contract organisations to drive SLA commitments
-Ability to create an excellent team climate to drive performance & standards to meet and exceed the operational metrics defined
-Ability to work in 24x7 shift environment
Experience
5 years operational experience in a complex multi-platform environment meeting aggressive service level targets. Ideally experience of leading teams of multi-disciplined shift controllers/operators
